What happens when Darth Vader comes to your house?

We weren't sure what Owen would think when Darth Vader surprised him by making an appearance at his Star Wars birthday party.


For a brief moment, when Owen first caught sight of Darth Vader, there was magic in his eyes. "Not even funny" he giggled.


We were able to encourage Owen to train with his party guest...


...and with Daddy's encouragement as well, before...


...the magic and boyishness quickly turned to shyness with just a touch of...


...fear, until...


...we unmasked Darth Vader. It's only Pastor Josh!


And then of course Owen was MORE than happy to train with his buddy Josh...he's much friendlier looking without the mask and helmet.

All was well and Owen pretended the rest of the evening to have a mask that he put on with an angry-looking face, only to then pretend to take off his mask to reveal his sweet Owen face. It's very funny how he processed the whole encounter!
