Orientation morning...Mama and Owen got to go into school for an hour together. And, uh, Owen was more than excited.
Ready for his first REAL morning of school! We gave one another kissing hands (thanks, Grandmom!) and Owen went right up the stairs with his teacher! Mama did surprisingly well, too!
After school, we talked all the way home about his first day: the teachers went over the rules, they listened for a bell that meant they had to freeze and listen, they identified the weather as "cloudy", Owen found his name in three different locations in the room, they played on the playground, he colored some shapes, had snack, and played with various toys. And the CD player didn't work to play a song the teacher wanted the class to hear. Mama had to giggle at herself playing the interviewer (or is it the interrogator?) Owen had SO many questions thrown his way- Mama isn't used to not knowing what he is doing!!
Owen found his First-Day-of-School cookies right away (a tradition from Mama's childhood). And he held this pose for almost a minute unprompted. Mama still made him wait until after lunch. :-)
*Sigh* The sweetest little papers... We can't wait to check out his folder after each morning at school!
