Hiking the AT at Delaware Water Gap

Our family has decided to find more challenging hiking adventures around this beautiful mid-Atlantic area we call home.  Our goal is to plan a handful of new hiking trips this year... and our first (and not last) stop was dayhiking a section of the Appalachian Trail. 

For our first AT adventure, we chose a hike in the Delaware Water Gap section of PA.  The first half of our hiking time was spent in PA, but we then extended our trip into New Jersey.

We followed the AT up Mt Minsi.  Amazing weather, amazing kiddies, amazing hike!

We wanted to extend our hiking day so after driving a little more we came upon Worthington State Forest, NJ.  We began on a trail called Rockcores, then Douglas, and although we tried to reach the AT again we ran out of time.  (But the AT does run directly through Worthington.)

The girls had way too much fun with this one...Daddy hiking up the ridge with some extra weight on his legs.

We made it to the top of the Ridge at a designated campsite... before it connects to the AT. We turned around after exploring the campsite.
