Owen is 11!

Owen celebrated his 11th birthday at the beach!  We were so happy to be able to get away and help Owen to feel special while Daddy was away in Kenya.  It was a memorable birthday for him!

He of course felt special the exact minute (8:22am) that he turned 11!

We loved and were so grateful for how God timed Daddy's work day in Kenya on Owen's birthday: although Daddy at no other time had access to the internet during the day (only in the evening), on Owen's birthday Daddy DID have access all day as they were packaging food boxes at a local church. So Daddy got to Face Time Owen first thing in the morning, he got to sing happy birthday to him, and Owen had MANY Kenyan boys and men wish him a happy birthday during the chat time that morning! It was so special for Owen!

He opened his gifts, had a small birthday breakfast and then we were off to the beach!

After the beach, and after chatting with Daddy once more (when almost the entire 31-person Kenya Team stayed up late to sing Happy Birthday to Owen!), it was time for Owen's special birthday dinner and dessert.

We enjoyed the rest of the week at the beach and Owen and Charlotte had a special night on the Boardwalk (not on Owen's birthday but we'll include it here anyway).
