Acadia Day Thirteen

For our final morning of hiking we decided on something special. The girls hiking up one trail, the boys on another, leading to the same summit. There were major differences in the trails, thus we decided to separate.

Charlotte, Mama and Eliza started up the Champlain North Ridge Trail.

Charlotte hiked every single bit of the one mile ascent!

The beginning of Owen's exciting adventure! Precipice Trail is a climbing trail up the East face of Champlain Mountain. It's not to be taken lightly and Mommy and Daddy had to do a lot of thinking and praying whether or not Owen was ready for it. But after seeing him capably lead most of our family's hikes, we saw how mature he was with his hiking and decided he could handle it. He was so excited when we told him yes!

Like we said, a trail not to be taken lightly. (Side note: this was made possible by Mama's reading of "Free Range Kids.") :-)

Mama,  Eliza and Charlotte made it to the summit first. This was Mama's shot of the boys' finish!

Reunited!

The hiking girls!

Happy to be together again for the decent!

One last stop at the Coast--photo by Owen.

And a quick stop by the Stables for Charlotte!

Later we took a final trek down the road to the Seal Harbor Beach.

All total we hiked about 30 miles of trails! Until next year!
