The kiddies later visited one of our favorite beaches- Hunter's Beach.
We decided to try one of our greatest Acadia adventures yet- keeping the kiddies up way past their bedtimes to see the fireworks over Bar Harbor! We parked along Park Loop Road above town to get a good viewing spot and to keep a distance from the enormous crowds in town. (We parked HOURS early, so we packed our dinner and explored that area we don't normally explore.) We found this marker indicating different paths and a carriage road so we went adventuring!
This section of Duck Brook Road is now closed to vehicles, so it's not really on the maps.
We found one of the lesser visited carriage road bridges!! Duck Brook Bridge!
Back at the car... eating dinner, playing games, reading...waiting for the sun to set!
Almost ready! And giddy with excitement!
