The kiddies started out vacation 2021 with camping in the wilderness of Maine! Baxter State Park has no running water, no electricty, but it does have the highest mountain in Maine!
We camped three nights and summited Mt Katahdin our last full day there. Reservations to hike the mountain (the Northern terminus of the Appalachian Trail) are required. It's a tough climb... gaining over 4,000ft in the 5 miles up, and then 5 miles down.
We also enjoyed exploring the Park before the Katahdin climb...
The morning of the big hike up Katahdin!
All hikers have to sign a register when starting out and arriving back...
