Acadia: Day Five

We took advantage of our foggy day to stay low to the ground and explore some neat places near the water. We love the sun (and won't see it for a few more days), but there is nothing like the typical foggy/misty coast!

After breakfast we headed for Bar Island. From the town of Bar Harbor, the Island is accessible only during low tide when the sand bar is visible. We hadn't walked the path to the Island since 2004 so it was brand new for the kiddies.

The view of Bar Harbor from the "summit" of the Island.

Exploring the sand bar...

Eliza nuzzled into her "Daddy oven."  Staying warm by the water...

For our second adventure of the day, we traveled a path new to us all to reach Hunter's Beach.  We had the beach all to ourselves and it was amazingly beautiful and fun to explore!

Of course the kiddies didn't care that the water temperature hovers around 50 degrees...
